Revolar Instinct – Review

Being a biker, devices that can make my life safer are of great interest to me.

The first ‘safety’ device that I had is my Apple Watch (1st Generation). This is a device that I have grown very attached to, and it has a great little safety feature – If you hold down button for more than 7 seconds it will automatically send out a SOS message to your pre-programmed emergency contacts. I’m a big fan of this feature, but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me when I’m on the motorcycle. The reason is because of the gloves that I wear tend to press against the side of the watch, meaning that I can be happily riding along with not a care in the world, while everyone i care about is in a panic haven just received a message saying that I’m in trouble and need help. I think at one point I might even have placed an accidental call to 999….  So I’ve stopped wearing my Apple Watch when on the bike, but that means I’m one safety device down. Until one week in March where an advert popped up on Facebook showing me an IndieGoGo campaign for a little key ring like item with a button, which allowed me to communicate my status to my loved ones. The Revolar Instinct. Continue reading “Revolar Instinct – Review”

Twelve South BookArc möd stand for Macbook Pro Retina – Review

Twelve South BookArc Mod detail

For those of us who work entirely from a laptop, working on the go is a perfectly fine experience, however when we get back to the office / home / base, we want to be able to plug it into a bigger screen to give us that Desktop Experience. When I first transitioned to my Macbook Pro Retina 15″, I HATED plugging it into an external screen because the external screen just wasn’t Retina (and once you’ve gone Retina, you just don’t want to go back). Later on I bought a beautiful Dell 2715Q (absolutely LOVE it!) and all of a sudden working on an external screen was a joy and a pleasure. As I’d gone 27-inch at 4K I didn’t really want to use Multi-Monitor any more, so I quickly stopped using my laptop as a second screen, but that left me with a 15″ Macbook Pro Retina sat on my desk, taking up valuable worktop space. What to do with it? Continue reading “Twelve South BookArc möd stand for Macbook Pro Retina – Review”

Graze.com, Three years on – A two month review

I originally reviewed the Graze Product in 2009, back when there was very little information on the internet about this service that delivers delicious nibbly-bits to your mailbox once a week I confess that I canceled my subscription in Q1 2010, however this was in a bid to save a little money, loose some weight and eat less over all. I was not displeased with the service, but at the time it did not fit my lifestyle. Since the review went live back in 2009, it gathering comments and feedback from readers and existing customers of Graze. A lot of the feedback I have received from existing customers was of a frustration of being unable to cancel their subscription to Graze. I’ve replied to each and every comments and offered advice where I’ve been able to, even going to far as to contact Graze directly to make them aware of the issues users were facing. Review: Salomon Lord (2010) vs. Salomon X-Wing Tornado Ti (2010)

Mountain Skis

Salomon LogoNot all the reviews and articles I write are technical. For once, I thought I’d post about a recent experience I had while buying some new skis. Now, I’m no professional skier or ski-equipment reviewer, but I enjoyed testing out these two models of ski so much that I felt compelled to share what I found.

Graze.com – Review

Graze LogoUPDATE: I have recently published a new review for 2013 of the Graze product.

Almost a month ago, I stumbled across an advert in the local newspaper for a service called Graze.com. The service offered healthy food, delivered fresh to you desk on a daily basis, along with a free trial of the service. I had never previously heard of a service like this, and was understandably curious about what it offered. A quick trip to the Graze.com website explained that the service delivered a box of fresh, healthy food, direct to your home or workplace.

I received my first box from this service about two weeks ago, and a second box on Tuesday this week. After receiving the second, I thought I would write a short article on what the service offers and my impressions of it.
